Issue comments not being created from POP mail service

When I send e-mail to our POP issue e-mail inbox with an issue number specified in the subject, a comment in that issue is not being created. The e-mail is being marked as read in the inbox but not deleted and nothing else happens.

Update on this post to show the resolution:

The user defined to comment on tickets from their mail server did not have the approprate project permissions. Thus the user was unable to create the comments after having checked the mail server.

Related error message:

2012-05-03 13:32:43,832 QuartzWorker-1 INFO ServiceRunner    XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX X XXXX [atlassian.mail.incoming.mailfetcherservice] The message has been rejected: User 'XXX-XXXXXXX' does not have permission to comment on an issue in project 'XXXXX'.
