Can JIRA be integrated with any other intelligent routing system to route tickets?

Um, this is a follow-on question as https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/73055/auto-routing-of-issues-based-on-rules

Talking about "issue routing" without the context is unclear - Savitri is looking for ways to handle automatic assigning of issues to people. The previous question mentioned the built-in "component/project/default" assignee stuff, and the use of JEMH for emails, but I'd assume that they aren't what Savitri needs.

Thanks Nic. Iam looking for ways to route the ticket. The component answer given in the post is a simple routing. Iam looking for more advanced routing. Our company has a intelligent routing system. So wanted to know how easy it is to integrate JIRA with existing routing systems

Jira can be easily interfaced via SOAP. REST, etc. It's an open system. It really depends on how open is your advanced routing system
