Hi Suneel,

The Test Issue Type is no longer available in Zephyr Scale.  I think it might be in Zephyr Squad, but I don't use that tool so can't be sure.  Zephyr Scale now uses Jira native Issue Types.

I hope that helps answer your question.  If you would like more user support, there is a dedicated Zephyr Scale community at the link below - I'm a frequent contributor.

Good luck!

To resolve the issue where you cannot find the Test Issue type after installing Zephyr Scale in Jira, follow these steps to ensure the Test Issue type is correctly configured and available:

1. Verify that Zephyr Scale is Installed Correctly:

  • Navigate to Jira Settings > Apps > Manage Apps.
  • Check that Zephyr Scale - Test Management for Jira is listed as an installed app.
  • If it’s not listed, ensure that the installation completed successfully, and try reinstalling the app if needed.

2. Add the Test Issue Type to the Project:

After installing Zephyr Scale, Jira might not automatically add the "Test" issue type to your projects. You'll need to manually add it to the project's issue type scheme.

  • Go to Jira Settings > Issues > Issue Type Schemes.
  • Find the scheme that is associated with your project (you can check this under the project’s settings).
  • Click Edit next to the scheme.
  • In the Available Issue Types section, ensure that Test (or any other Zephyr-specific issue type) is added to the Issue Types for Current Scheme list.
  • If it's not there, move it from the "Available" list to the "Current" list.

3. Ensure Correct Permissions:

Zephyr Scale issue types will only be available in the project if your Jira instance's permission scheme allows you to create and view issues of this type.

  • Go to Project Settings > Permissions.
  • Make sure that your user role has the Create Issues permission.
  • If needed, consult your Jira admin to ensure that you have the necessary permissions for test case creation and execution.

4. Re-index the Project (if necessary):

In some cases, Jira may need to be re-indexed to reflect new issue types in the project.

  • Go to Jira Settings > System > Indexing.
  • Click Re-index project or Re-index Jira to update the project’s configuration.

5. Check Zephyr Scale's Configuration:

Zephyr Scale may need to be properly configured after installation.

  • Go to Zephyr Scale (from the top menu in Jira or via the Apps section).
  • Check the Global Settings or Project Settings within Zephyr to make sure everything is set up correctly for test management.

6. Create a Test Case:

After confirming that the "Test" issue type is available, you can try to create a test case by:

  • Navigating to the project.
  • Clicking Create Issue.
  • Select Test from the issue type dropdown and fill in the required fields.

7. If the Issue Type Still Doesn’t Appear:

  • Double-check if the "Test" issue type was renamed or removed from your issue type scheme.
  • Contact your Jira admin or review the Zephyr Scale documentation to ensure that everything is correctly configured.

By following these steps, the Test issue type should be visible in the project, allowing you to create and execute test cases using Zephyr Scale.

Let me know if you need further help!
