How to get an Epic-Story view similar to Story-Subtask view

Hi I'd like an Epic-Story view similar to Story-Subtask view, and not with Epics as swimlanes on a board.  If I select all issue types in my filter, I get Epics and Stories in corresponding columns without any correlation between Epics and *its* stories.  If I select only Epics, then obviously I dont get Stories.

This is my ask:

As a Product Owner handling multiple epics in a project

I want a Kanban Board / Dashboard to show Epics based on status, and Stories underneath each Epic

So that I can track progress of Epics and stories within each epic, in a single view.

Hi @Tushar Mathur

I may not have understand but is it not what EPic swimlane do ? You have each Epic as lane with all Stories under it.

If you want to keep seeing both Epic and Story card, but want to have the Story under the Epic like subtask when there is in the same column it's not possible. Maybe one way to get around that is to add Epic Link field in the card layout in your board config.

Thanks for your comment, @Florian Bonniec .  I do want to see both Epic and Story card, Story under the Epic like subtask.  Unfortunately, as you say, it seems not possible.

I have the Epic Link in my story card, but then stories form an epic are all over in a column, and not tucked underneath it's parent epic.  I even tried the jql to ORDER BY Epic Link but then Epics all stack together as their Epic Link is empty.

Having Epics as swimlanes won't serve my purpose as I would like to see the Epic move along the board as it progresses.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to do it, you may be able to do it using an app.

Hi @Tushar Mathur

If you are fine with a mktplace app, to get this data, you can try out our plugin

Agile Tools : Epic Tree, Links Tree, Time in Status & Worklogs

You can view you complete Epic Hierarchy with the help of the app, along with roll up progress based on time estimates and story points.
