I need to update some fields of the project.

I know I can know find some logs via the "System --> Audit Log", but it seems no project logs inside.

Where can the system or project administrator find out specific project logs?

Hi JH,

I understand that you are wanting to see a log of changes to the project configuration. The audit log in Jira does have the ability to filter by project.  This will show you events specific to that project.

However I can see a scenario where you might not see a change made to a custom field when you filter by project.  Custom fields in Jira can exist on a global level, meaning they can be used across all projects unless configured to be in specific projects only.  But the way Jira manages these fields is within field configurations.  Specifying field behavior explains this in more detail.

What I could see happening is that either a field is created or removed, the field configuration scheme would have an event logged against it when that happens, not the project.  So even if the project is using that field configuration scheme, there are potentially events happening that could be seen within that project, but are technically happening outside a project filtering seen in the audit log.

Since several schemes in Jira, such as workflows, notification, field configuration, etc, can actually be used across multiple projects, I believe this is why such changes to the scheme are not tracked against the project itself.

Does that make sense?  Does this help?

Please let me know.

Andy
