How to clear previously set resolution and version fields when cloning tickets

Hello. I have not been able to figure out how to remove the resolution status and Version field of tickets that were recently cloned. The issue is my users want to use previously valid tickets by cloning them but when they are cloned the resolution and version field display what was in the old recently closed ticket. For example a ticket would say (Version = "Release 1.1") and (Resolution = "Fixed"). Can someone help me figure out the best way to get around this issue.

In onDemand, you can't use custom plugins and hence the only option is to reopen the newly cloned issue and edit it to remove fixVersion.

Clone operation clones everything!
