Hello Everyone,
Background:
As we have lots of tickets in the backlog and we are run through different priority layers. So, to decide about what to go in the sprint based on the capacity, we look into the story points estimated.
As you know the story points are inside the tickets, meaning that we will need to open each ticket to properly priotise, which not efficient for time and visualisation.
The question:
How can we have the story points visualised on the title. Please take a look at screen shots
Hi @Ali Mahmoud , I'm not exactly sure what page/view your screenshot is from, but I'm assuming it's an issue screen where there are sub-tasks present?
I was busy testing out what's essentially suggested here https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/how-to-display-custom-field-of-the-sub-task-in-the-parent-issue-screen-163939652.html but I couldn't get it to work in either my Jira Cloud or Jira Server 8.15.0. I changed the columns in the past, so I know it used to work, but maybe it doesn't these days. Anyway...on to other ideas.
Other Ideas
1. Create a filter, show the "Story Points" column, and use that view for your planning purposes. You can also the filter to a custom dashboard and show the "Story Points" column there as well.
2. Create a board and add the "Story Points" field so the values show on each card. Instructions: On the board, click the "..." button on the top right and select "Board settings." Click the "Card layout" option on the left sidebar. (Pictured below) Select the "Story Points" field from the drop down menu and click "Add".
3. You could use an app (or maybe a Jira automation) to append the value of the Story Points field to the value of the Summary field. I have not tried this, but I've done other similar things, with other fields, so it's worth a try. Just be aware that you'll need a way to trigger an update if the story point value changes. You could trigger the update with a workflow post function or on a schedule with an automation.
Hope this helps or at least gets you closer to a solution!
