How can I start watching an issue and all of it's (many) child issues?

I've got a couple of cases in my system where I want to watch an issue and all of the sub-tasks associated. I figure there must be either a flag to "watch children when watching the parent" or "bulk add watch".

Is my assumption correct? If so, how do I do it?

You can only watch one issue at a time and so you will have to it separately for the parent issue and subtask issues. From a usability point, an easier thing to do might be to use the Watch Issue operation on the Actions dropdown of the subtask when they are viewed on the parent issue page!

I am sure it is a pain when there are lot of subtasks. You can also write a plugin to write a new operation which does that :)
