How can I get a percentage complete in Jira?

Inderpreet Kaur November 12, 2024

In the plan view I can see a progress bar that shows progress in Blue, Green and Grey colours but not as a percentage. Is it possible to see the progress as a % complete in Jira plan view and also when exporting Jira data into excel?

Note: I am using Jira Cloud

HI @Inderpreet Kaur

If you select the progress bar, it will provide the details, including percentage.

Hi @Inderpreet Kaur

Not without a 3rd party app, this in by default not an option.

Thank you! Hope this is a feature added in future Jira enhancements

Hi @Inderpreet Kaur

Not sure, if this can be achieved out of the box in jira. If you would be interested in a mktplace app, do take a look at

Issue Hierarchy

The app shows your issue hierarchy in a tree view and the same view can be exported to a CSV file. Along with % progress for time tracking / story points and even status of child issues. The app has multiple other features which are very useful in project tracking and management and is free for upto 10 users.

(Disclaimer: I work for RVS, the vendor for this app)

Thank you, this can do the job but are the number of users calculated based on users in a Jira instance?

Hi @Inderpreet Kaur

An app needs to be purchased for the number of users that Jira is licensed for.

I see, thank you for the response!
