Hello,
I recently created a Human Resources project with the Kanban board in Jira. It is very smooth so far, except for the fact that there is no "clear # of issues" functionality at the top of the Done column.
I read multiple other threads in the community pages but wasn't able to find the answer to how to set this function once you don't have it. I found a hint that after 2 weeks, items in this column automatically get removed, but I'm not 100% if it is so.
How to avoid issues piling up infinitely in the Done column? Attaching a screenshot of the problem below.
Please help,
Yulia
There is an option to clear the column manually for team managed projects:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Introducing-manual-board-clearing-for-your-next-gen-Kanban-board/ba-p/1411958 - thank you @Tara Mullen-Boustiha for pointing this out! ;)
For company managed projects, you can only set a timeframe in Configure board/General/Completed issues (last option in the page):
Hi Yulia,
This documentation goes over everything for releasing issues on a Kanban board.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
It seems that this option is only available for Team managed boards. For Company managed boards, you can only set a schedule to hide issues from your board, under Configure board/General:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
In Jira work management you can clear manually your done issues, only if you are the project admin:
To manually clear Done issues from your board, hover over the Done column and select More (…) > Clear Done issues
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/get-started-with-team-managed-projects/
If you are not the project admin then wait 2 weeks:
If you work in a Kanban style, Done issues are automatically cleared from the board every 14 days
Let me know if that clears things up.

Hi @Alex Koxaras _Relational_
I'm an admin of a project, please see the screenshot.
I also noticed that your instruction contains something about enabling the issue navigator by going to Project settings – Features to see issues that were Done. I don't have this Features option either:

@Yulia Alexandrova after searching on the documentation, you can't manually clear your done issues. The only option would be to wait 2 weeks so that automatically issues will be cleared.

no you're right you need to edit this (kanban subfilter) to get rid of the issue once they are done.

Hey, @Mohamed Benziane this board doesn't seem to have the ability to add a subfilter like a regular board.

Subfilters exist only on jira software and company managed projects
