Get Git Plug-in Information from JIRA API?

Is there a way to get any GIT Plug-in information from either the standard GIT plug-in or any 3rd party GIT Plug-in.  Basically, we are planning on using smart commit from GIT to link our GIT commits to Jira.  Once done, we want to be able to call a JIRA API to retrieve this information from Jira.  Using the standard JIRA API such as https://[privatedomain-jira]/rest/api/2/issue/[issuenumber], I am able to get all information about a JIRA Ticket except for the GIT information that was created/associated using the smart commit.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
