Filter objects in the insight field according to the attribute value.

Мария September 11, 2024

Good afternoon.

I have a project in Jira software in which scheduled issue tasks are created. In these tasks, there is already a "Server" field filled with objects from insight. I need that after the task is created, the insight field "Server" should be filled with only servers with the status "In operation", the rest of the servers that do not meet this criterion should be deleted. "Status" is an attribute of the "Server" object, it is filled with an outgoing link to the "Statuses" objects.

I tried to solve this problem by copying objects from one Insight field to another Insight field (with a filter for statuses), but this does not work, all servers from the first field are copied and not filtered. Field editing via automation does not work either, there is no support for fields of the insight type. Through the insight post function, if you fill in the validator with the IQL filter Status = "In operation", all servers from the insight schema with this status are displayed (more than 1000), and I need to filter only those objects that are in the "Server" field.

I think I need a script that will take the value of the "Status" attribute, compare it with the reference value and if it does not match it, then delete this object from the insight field. But I'm newcomer to writing scripts and I can't create such a script correctly. Please help me...
