Hi everyone,
I'm new at community and I need a help with the following situation:
I have a workflow that uses a screen with some fields configured and one relevant field (element connect) was removed from screen (It was not delete, only removed from screen). All issues of this workflow lost this field data.
I tried to link this field with the workflow again but when I check some of these issues, this field is empty.
I need a solution to recovery the data of all these issues but I cannot affect the new issues created correctly, is it possible?
This field is Element Connect type and is configured with a SQL query, the field ID is a number (I don't know if this information is relevant).
Hello @Edison Machado
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
The Elements Connect custom field is provided by a third party app. I recommend you contact the support team for the vendor of the app to get advice on this issue.
I know, but it happen with any kind of fields. If I remove a field from some screen and add it again the data already populated in all issues that uses this screen are not recovery.
In this case I am editing issue by issue including the data again.

What is the version of your Jira product?
Are the fields you're removing all types of fields that were made available by third party plugins, or does this impact fields that use built in field types like Number, or Text?
If you are only removing the field from a screen and not removing it from the Field Configuration and not removing it from the system entirely, data should not be getting removed, I believe. At least not for the built in field types. I can't really speak to custom field types created by third party apps.
I do not currently have administrative access to a Jira Server/Data Center instance where I could test this out, but that was my experience when I worked with such several years ago.
After you have removed the field from the screen, have you tried executing a Search for issues, displaying the results in the List view, and including in the columns the field that you removed?
How are you using the screen in a Workflow? Is this a custom screen you have attached to a workflow transition? Or is it the Screen that is associated to the Create (or Edit or View) operation for issue types in a Screen Scheme?
