Exporting Custom fields to Excel

Jane Brock November 16, 2011

Just upgraded to 4.4.1 I know in previous versions if a custom field wasn't used for every issue type in a project that you couldn't display it on your issue naviagtor. I have only one issue type in this project, with custom fields, but when I export to excel, my custom fields don't show up. What else should I configure? or change, thanks!

Evidently you must specify in the filter the exact issue type; even when the project only supports one issue type. Just fyi.

Ah-does your custom field have a context other than Global? I do recall that being an issue for us in the past as well.

Yes it is restricted to this project and issue type; thus the assumption it would appear; but evidently you cannot use the canned filters and expect it to appear, you must specify the issue type, even tho it is the default issue type (and only issue type). Once you do that, the fields will appear.

I believe you just need to add that custom field to the Issue Navigator. This can be done globally in the admin menu (User Interface -> Navigator Columns) or personally from the Issue Navigator (Tools -> Configure Columns).
