Hi There,

we are looking for a way to prevent that users can set team-managed project to public. In our use case of jira, this should never be the case.

If there is no option to do this. we would need a report to find projects, that use this settings.

Thank you for the help

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

To me the best solution is to control who can even create Team-managed projects. You do that by going to Settings > System > Global permissions >Create team-managed projects.

There you can set who is allowed to create those projects. Because once the project is created, the person who created it now controls who sees it.

Hi John,

thank you for replying!

That is one thing we already use. But the Project Lead  should have the ability to manage the project by him/herself. That is the most important thing in this project type.

Hi @Patrick Alexander ,

Welcome to the community :)

Team-managed software projects have three, simple access levels:

  • Open: When a project is open, anyone on your Jira site can view, create and edit issues in your project. With this access level, Jira gives anyone who logs into your Jira site the Member role in your project.

  • Limited: When a project is limited, anyone on your Jira site can view and comment on issues in your project. But, they can't edit them or create new ones. With this access level, Jira gives anyone who logs into your Jira site the Viewer role in your project.

  • Private: When a project is private, only Jira admins and people you add to the project can see it in their project directory or its issues in search results.

Jira administrators (anyone with the Administer Jira global permission) always have access to your project's settings

There is no option to make a team-managed public. But you can restrict the creating of team managed to certain users .

Thank You,

Hi @Prachi Bolar

Thank you for the answer. So I need to express myself more clearly, that i mean the option of "open" for the project Access :)

Greetings

Patrick

Thank you @Patrick Alexander  for clarifying this :)

- One way to do is restrict the creating of team managed projects by following the steps here : https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/disable-team-managed-projects-in-jira-cloud-1115664013.html

- Another way is to give these users only view or member role or create a new role in in the project so that they don't see the project settings at all to change the access level
