DKIM record rotation in Atlassian

Meet Darji September 13, 2024

Hey Folks, I have recently been assigned a task with the DKIM key concept. After reading many articles I gained an understanding of the concept of DKIM protocol.

Have some questions related to DKIM key rotations in Atlassian.

  1. Does the Atlassian provide a DKIM key longer than 2048 bits?
  2. Does Atlassian Support the key rotation? If supports how we admin can do this activity.

I feel proud of our community for its credibility and helpfulness!đź‘Ź

Thanks in advance!

2048 bit is the current norm for DKIM keys, and using longer keys risks recipients not being able to validate messages because the RFC only requires up to 2048 bits.

If you configure your domainkey record as a CNAME like they suggest, rotation will be entirely transparent to you. You probably need to ask the support team if they rotate them, and how often, but I don't recall ever being able to trigger rotation.
