Can atlassian-sdk be used to create Jira cloud plugins or applications ?

Hi, 

I have been trying to build applications for my Jira Cloud Instance using Forge. But, I keep encountering a lot of difficulty and restrictions while trying to meet the requirements using Forge. For example, I am not able to add a menu level button in the top header beside the Projects, Filters, etc, buttons. These things were possible using atlassian-sdk while developing plugins or applications on Jira data centre. Therefore, I am here to ask, whether, atlassian-sdk is supported on Jira cloud or not. If not, is there any other way, using which, we can develop plugins or applications on Jira Cloud. ?

Atlassian-sdk is not supported on cloud.

An alternative to Forge is Atlassian Connect, however this will still not allow you to do all the UI customizations.
