Can I import sub-tasks into JIRA from a CSV file?

Greg Warner June 16, 2011

I have been provided a CSV export from our project planning system that contains several large parent tasks, and the smaller tasks. I can work out which are the tasks and subtasks based on their Activity ID. So I have a method to work out which are the parent tasks.

What I would like to do is perform an import into JIRA creating a task, with the approporiate sub-tasks linked to it. Is this possible?

It is now possible!

The JIRA Import Manager supports importing from CSV files which include subtasks (since version 2.5).

The latest version of the importers plugin is also included in the upcoming release of JIRA 4.4

And please let us know if you have any feedback
