ACP 600 Problems with PSI

Kaya, Rahmi November 30, 2020

Dear Community,

finally i passed my ACP-600 Exam yesterday. But i´ve got many many problems with PSI. ( online exam )

Firstly 2 weeks before my exam, i read all the instructions to be prepare for this exam ( Hardware and OS compatibility check ). Everything has workend.

But then when i tried to start the exam ( i was already connected with the proctor ). The proctor told me that he isn´t able to see my screen and my camera. We have troubleshooted this problem for more then 40 minutes and i had 3 phone calls from Germany to the USA to solve the problem. Then we decided to switch my device and i´ve used my backup laptop where PSI Client was already configured. After logging into the exam finally the proctor could see my screen and camera.

But after exactly taken the exam for 45 minutes suddenly i got a screen with the following text :,, Exam has ben paused either by the proctor or by loosing your internet connectivity ..."

But i´ve used the companys Internet via Lan Cable and i had a connection to the internet all the time ( i´ve checked my connection settings and details ) but i had to call the psi service desk again and talked to the friendly women for more then 30 minutes.

In total i spent ~75 Minutes for problems that wasn´t my fault. Who´ll pay my call fee ?

I need to pay 1,79€ for each minute that i´ve talked to the service desk from psi. Does anyone has an idea ?

Hi Kaya,
sorry to hear about the unpleasant experience and please do not misunderstand me - I can relate to the situation as I had technical issues as well (but with the former solution provider before PSI came into the play).

There is no easy advise on this - surely, a modern laptop should be compatible with the proctoring solutions and if not a solution should be found.

I am struggling with the question as to your telephone bill. Of course, there should not be the need to call 75 minutes - nor to pay so much money, but the best advise I can give here is to talk to certification team with Atlassian, where probably to go from here.

I only can share my experience I had with the former solution provider back in Summer.
After my camera was not recognized by the security-proctoring system we canceled the appointment and I reinstalled the system. Although I was aware that it works (had another certification with exact this hardware) also the re-install was of no help. We re-scheduled to a testing centre.
This was the last encounter. For the next certification already PSI was the only option - and worked fine on my hardware.
Of course, the testing centre availability is restricted with global situation and the virus.
Probably this will still be an option to go with as soon as this is sorted out. I mean, I haven't checked if their are "PSI accredited" testing centres in the same amount the previous partner had installed throughout the country - but, no question, in case the hardware doesn't cope with the software the testing centres always were a nice choice.
You just do not have to worry about incompatibilities, staff was always nice, friendly and helpful.

I know this is not a solution you can use to change the game for you now - but I hope I could transport that you are not alone with some technical challenges of the proctoring solutions out there.
Everything can be sorted somehow - yes, and I hope you did not lose the interest in the certifications as of the experiences.

Have a great day ahead!

Cheers,
Daniel
