Restrict ranking of Epics to a specific group

Hello guys,

I am looking for a suggestion. We would need to restrict ranking of Epics to a specific group of people while all the members of the team would be able to rank Stories, Task etc.
I've found a thread with the same topic: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/JIRA-AGILE-Restrict-Epic-Rank/qaq-p/363315
But it's 9 years old and no solution was provided.

Has anything changed since then and we do already have this functionality?

Thank you for any answer/suggestion.

You can do it, but you'll probably need to adjust the way you are handling Epics, and you may cause problems with others ranking issues in their projects or working with the Epics.

Ranking is permission-based (specifically the "schedule issues" permission), and permissions apply to projects, not issue types.

So, if you move all your Epics into one project (or a set of projects) that only contain the Epic issue type, and remove the Epic issue type from all the other projects, you can permission that project to only allow ranking to your sub-set of people.  You can still allow others to create/edit/update etc
