Personal Date Format

Most products allow users to personalize their date format, not limit it to a site wide setting.  Has that ever been suggested here? This would be VERY helpful for multi national users where different teams would prefer different formats. 

Right now my site administrator has it set to d/MMM/yy, however people in the United states generally use MM/dd/yyyy. 

Can the date format setting be changed to a user customization rather than site wide customization? Similar to 12/24 hour time, timezone, thousands separator, etc..

This would be helpful. I can't find any documentation about it in 2023. Someone on my team is going to read a date wrong and we are going to disappoint a client.
