Is there a way to create board templates to reuse across software projects?

I am currently configuring multiple software projects in Jira and we decided to make some adjustments to colors and filter options in the boards, but it seems like there is no global way to apply these settings. Has anyone else found a way to apply settings or make changes globally across all boards?

  • I added a Quick Filter to easily find all issues with the status "Review"
  • I added a Card Color for "status in (Review)"

I would love to not have to tediously do these changes across 20 projects, if anyone can help.

Hi @Christopher Gracia,

I come bearing bad news - JSWCLOUD-6790. As of now, there is no feature in Jira Cloud to copy board configurations or creating a custom template for boards.

However, there is a workaround as answered in Custom Jira Project template; How to clone board from "Create New Project" window?. You can use the Copy board function and then update the copied board's filter and permission.

I hope that this helps.
