Hi Jira Community,
This is my first share, so excuse me if there is a better way/place to post it.
I thought it is good to share my experience with people (just like me) who might search on how to add an "Assignee" from a linked issue (the trigger for the automation) to be added as a "Watcher" in a new created ticket via JSM (Jira Service MGMT) Automation without being an assignee for the new ticket, I tried this and worked just fine when added to the watcher smart value the following value:
{{issue.issuelinks.inwardIssue.assignee}}
This worked fine with "Linked Issue" branch type as well.
