How can Jira Service Management (Cloud) pull a month old unread emails from connected external email

  • Jira Service Management is connected to a standalone Office365 email address xxx@yyy.com
  • Password for this email expired over a month ago
  • Usually I receive a notification about this when I login to Jira, but in this instance there was no notification and I just proactively checked and found out about it
  • After resetting password and reconnecting jira with the O365 mail account, Jira was not pulling any of the old emails to create new tickets
  • Then I disconnected and reconnected to the O365 mailbox and even then the older unread emails are not being processed by the mail handler and the tickets have not been created

Please advise
