Hello Atlassian Community,
Our organization has been utilizing Atlassian Cloud services, including Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket, with a current monthly cost of EUR 500. As our user base continues to grow, we're contemplating the possibility of transitioning to a self-hosted solution on AWS to better align with our evolving needs.
I would love to hear from community members who have undergone a similar transition or have expertise in self-hosted Atlassian instances. Here are a few specific points we're keen on exploring:
Cost Comparison: What were the key cost considerations when moving from Atlassian Cloud to a self-hosted solution on AWS? Any unforeseen expenses we should be aware of?
Operational Challenges: For those managing their own instances, what operational challenges did you face during setup, maintenance, and ongoing support? How did you address them?
Scalability and Flexibility: How has self-hosting on AWS impacted your ability to scale and customize your Atlassian environment? Any notable benefits or limitations?
Long-term Viability: Have you seen long-term cost savings or other advantages by self-hosting? What factors contributed to the decision to continue with a self-hosted solution?
Support and Community Experience: How has the support and community engagement compared between Atlassian Cloud and self-hosted instances? Any significant differences in issue resolution and collaborative problem-solving?
We appreciate any insights, experiences, or advice you can share as we navigate this potential transition. Our goal is to make an informed decision that aligns with both our current and future requirements.
Thank you in advance for your valuable input!
