G'day Atlassian Community,

 

We're starting a body of work researching into how teams use enterprise people directories (something to lookup your colleagues details). What tools they use today, what workarounds they have and how they're finding it. 

Some of you may also be aware of feature requests such as https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-7426 or https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-6354. If you are interested at all in helping us shape what we do to help solve some of these problems we'd love to hear from you!

We have a web based user directory which returns standard metadata fields.

For a new solution:

  • Search basic information about a user.
  • Syncing a user's profile image from AD (optional).
  • Manageable label/tag field so we can look for subject matter experts.
  • Click to call option would be nice. Click on someone's extension and your phone calls the user (Cisco / Avaya)

User Profiles for Confluence (marketplace) hits some of these points already.

Whatever solution Atlassian looks into, please make it for both Cloud AND Server.
