ssl for Jira

Justin Haugen April 2, 2018

I followed the steps in the below URL and my SSL cert is still not working.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/running-jira-applications-over-ssl-or-https-861253906.html

I purchased a cert through Click SSL, created the keystore, the CSR, imported the trusted CAs and the CA reply and set the jira configuration to use HTTPS only .  Once rebooted it still shows as jira.go-applied.com as untrusted

Hi,

If you are using e.g Apache as an webserver in front of your Jira, and using proxy to handle requests to your Jira, you need to handle SSL behaviour on Apache side. Apache might be set up handling the SSL and using a self-signed certificate, overriding your SSL setup for Jira. Try installing your certificate on the Apache server.

Digicert have a guide for installing SSL certificate on Apache2 on Ubuntu server here: https://www.digicert.com/csr-ssl-installation/ubuntu-server-with-apache2-openssl.htm
