Manual Refresh is Required After Changing the Status of the Issue to Done

PJao August 23, 2018

I noticed that after changing the status of the issue to done, the result will not automatically reflect on the browser by removing itself from "open issues." Thus, a refresh on the browser is required. Is there a way update the list automatically after changing the status to done?

Hi there.

I believe that the behavior that you are describing here relates to the Issue Navigator's Open Issues filter when you transition an open issue to Done. For example:

As we can see, PM-2 (and the rest of the tickets) were transitioned to DONE and the issues are still listed in the list. When the page gets refreshed, the list gets updated accordingly.

Can you please confirm on this?

Yes that is what I'm referring to. Is there a way to update the list without refreshing the page?

Hello there.

As of now, JIRA does not have a way to update the list automatically without having the need to either:

  • refresh the page entirely OR
  • refresh the list via the refresh icon you see at the bottom of the list

We have the concern being tracked in the following ticket in our public issue tracker:

I encourage you to visit the suggestion page linked above and click the Vote and Watch links near the top right to show support for the feature. By doing this, it will ensure you are proactively informed of progress and updates going forward.

Feedbacks are also appreciated. You can do this by leaving a comment on the ticket as this helps us prioritize & understand the use case of the feature request.

Hope that helps. Meanwhile, let me know if you have any other concerns that you would like to bring up.
