JIRA upgrade from 6.4.7 to 7.0. migrating the JIRA app & database to new operating system

We have taken the path of Installing JIRA 7.0 on the new Win 2012 Server by creating a blank Windows SQL Database on a new instance and then importing the Database using the XML backup, could you please confirm this upgrade path is correct ?

Depending on the uptime requirements that you have you can chose multiple paths.

BTW, i recommend installing it on a linux machine with a postgresql database if you have freedom to chose.
