Is it possible to associate a permission with a status?

I'd like to restrict my clients to only being able to view tasks with a status of "In UAT". I don't want them to see anything that's "In Progress" or "In Testing", only the tasks with the status "In UAT". 

Is this restriction possible?  And, if so, how?

You can do it with issue security levels. You would need to set a certain security level upon transition. You can find more information here:
