Import from Trello to Jira

Hi, 

I'm having trouble importing my trello board and cards to Jira. I came across this link - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/import-data-from-trello/ 

But am unsure where to find the Settings > System > External System Import mentioned in steps 1-3. 

Can someone please advise?

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

The first question we need to answer is the hosting type for your Jira instance.

Is the URL for your instance something like...?

https://something.atlassian.net

If so, then you are likely using Jira Cloud.

Another thing to check is to navigate to the list of all projects (Projects > View all projects). What are the column headers you see there? If you see a column header for Type then that is another indication that you are using Jira Cloud.

The document you referenced was for importing data into Jira Cloud.

The next question to answer is if you have Jira Administrator permissions. Only a Jira Administrator will be able to access the External System Import function.

Next to your avatar in the upper right corner of the Jira screen do you see a gear-shaped icon?

If you do not, then you do not have the necessary permissions to complete the task. That gear icon is how one accesses the Settings that are available to Jira Administrators.

So Step 1-3 of the document (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/import-data-from-trello/ ) should be done in your Jira cloud.

You login to Jira Cloud  follow step 1-3
