How to use IF inside a mail message

With automation for Jira, I want to send a mail to assignee but I need something like that is the mail body

{{#=}}IF({{field1.isEmpty()}},{{field2}},{{field1}}{{/}}

But it doesn't work. I always have a blank line.

Are the mathematical functions usable inside mail body?

Hi Bertrand,

You can use defaults to provide a value if the value doesn't exist:

{{issue.field1|issue.field2}}
