How to set default values for some issue fields in the create issue screen?

I would like to write default values in some issue fields by using a plugin when a user open the create issue screen.

Any idea to start??

I just came across this old question - so here is an option in 2016:

Workflow Essentials for JIRA has this kind of functionality. You can define default values on create screens for many fields, per project and issue type or globally.

Which field that you wish to be configured with default values? Probably you can refer to this page: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Setting+a+Default+Value+in+the+Description+Field if you want to set a default value in the 'Description' field.
