How to add watchers from linked issue?

Ashley Honeycutt April 15, 2024

When I link issues from a ticket in a different project, I want the watchers of that issue added to the issue in my current project, if a certain link type is selected. This is what I have. The rule says it was successful, but nothing changes with the Watchers for either issue.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you!2024-04-15_13-29-28.jpg

Hello @Ashley Honeycutt

The smart value I tried is {{destinationIssue.watchers}}

But going through the documentation,

if ISSUE-ABC1 "is caused by" ISSUE-ABC2, the trigger is going to refer ISSUE-ABC2. That is, when you put the above smart value, it is going to update ISSUE-ABC2 with watchers from ISSUE-ABC1.

Also, because you mention watchers from other Projects, you may run into scope issues where you dont have access to values outside of your project, so please cross check that.. also, users need to be present in both projects.. obviously.
