I'm a new team managed project admin in Jira software cloud using a scrum board. I've just finished my first sprint, but when I try to complete the sprint, it shows all of my issues as still open and wants to move them all to the next sprint. I have a category "done" workflow status called "Complete" and have moved all issues to this status. I believe what's probably needed is a resolution status, but can't seem to find where to configure that. I've tried adding a transition, but my options appear to be limited. I've also explored using Automation, but can't seem to find the feature that will mark issues as resolved.
What do I need to do to designate these issues as closed so I can close the sprint?
Thanks.
Hi @Tina.Henry ,
you can add a post function in all transition that move your tickets in the final status that set automatically Resolution field.
Take a look to the following article to get more information https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-advanced-issue-workflows/

@Fabio Racobaldo [Herzum] Do you need to be a Jira administrator to do this? I'm only a team project administrator.

Ciao @Tina.Henry , you need to be a JIRA Admin. If you are just a project admin you can put in place a Project automation.
WHEN : status = YOUR_FINAL_STATUS_HERE
THEN : Edit Issue : choose Resolution
Try this different approach.
Hope this helps,
Fabio

Thanks @Fabio Racobaldo [Herzum] I was able to set up that automation and set the Resolution to "Done", but not "Resolved" My only options to select were Done, Wont Do, Duplicate and Can't reproduce. I was not able to type in any other value.
I set this up to occur when the issue is transitioned to "Complete". It appears the automation did set the the resolution to Done. However, when I try to complete the sprint I'm still getting the notification that all my issues are still open and Jira still wants to assign them to the next sprint.

Hi @Tina.Henry ,
please check that "Complete" has been mapped to the last column on the right of you board.
Here a simple guide on how-to administer a team managed board https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/add-your-team-to-team-managed-boards/
Let me know if it fixes your issue.

For the transition Complete, add post function 'Update Issue Field' and set value to resolution.

@Rilwan Ahmed I'm having trouble finding the post function feature. Is that a feature available to team managed project admins? I'm not a Jira administrator.

You can either configure a screen on the "complete" workflow transition to manually update the resolution, or (what I do), is use the "Update Issue Field" post script to set resolution to "Done" automatically when the ticket is transitioned.
Hope that helps,
Eric

I'm not a Jira Admin ... Just a project Admin.
