How can I move a subtask to a different parent within the same project?

Stephanie Duprea October 16, 2020

None of the prior comments seem to be for the current cloud version.

I am sorry that we cannot tell you much, but there is no context for your question.

I guess that the prior comments might help our understanding, but you have asked a question that does not have any of that history.  We don't know what "prior comments" you are asking about.

The best I can do is suggest that you click on "change parent" in the context menu, or "move issue" selecting the new parent there.

Those aren't options on my screen.  Can you provide a screen shot?  What is the context menu?  I can move issue but only to another project or to a different type (epic, bug, etc), new parent isn't an option on cloud classic.

Look to the three dots to the upper-right of the issue view - there is a "move" option in there that takes you to a screen with "change project" and "change parent" options.

Note that the "change parent" will only appear if the issue is a sub-task, it's not for changing the Epic links.

Thank you for the note, it was a task not a sub task therefore, I wasn't getting the change parent option.  I was able to manipulated the task type in order to get the change parent option.
