Group subscription on first login

Debraj Neogi December 19, 2017

There is a configuration to enable group subscription on first login for any LDAP user I am told. How do we enable that for JIRA? Currently we are manually addressing user requests by adding them to jira-users group (post which users can login), however if I remember correctly, there was already a setting which automatically adds them to that group when first time they try to login to JIRA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To accomplish this, you need to make sure that your LDAP is configured with "Read Only, with Local Groups" as part of the connection. If that is enabled, then there should be a setting called "Default Group Memberships" that can be configured to do what you want. Simply add the group you want (jira-users) to the setting and they will be added when they log in.
