Date Picker showing one day earlier, but there is no history of the change

Lakshmi S March 15, 2022

Hi Team,

Our Date Picker fields (Start Date and End Date fields) started to behave oddly, they always show one day earlier than the date we input in the ticket.  You can see in the history that they were set correctly, but when we look at them the dates are off (but there is no history of the change).  Please find the attached screenshots for your reference.

FYI, We have upgraded jira 8.20.1 to 8.20.4 a month ago.

Hi Lakshmi,

It sounds like a Timezone issue. If Jira's Timezone if different to that of the user viewing the dates you can see this.

Check what is set in Jira's System Info (look for 'timezone'), then go to your user Profile and check 'Time Zone', it may show as -1 different to Jira's.

You can then set your Profile to match Jira's to see if the problem is resolved.

If so either it's a case of updating user's timezones or Jira's itself, details on that is here:

Hopefully that helps, it might not be the cause but worth checking.
