Considering moving from JIRA 4.4.4 on-premise to JIRA On Demand: which, if any customizations will transfer?

If we were to migrate from our on-premise JIRA instance (running v 4.4.4) to JIRA On Demand, would we be able to maintain our custom Issue Types, Workflows, Custom Fields etc?

Hi Jillian,

The custom fields and workflows will be moved. However, it's important to note that, if you have any custom field, workflow statuses, workflow transitions, conditions, etc, or even issue types that has been created by 3rd party plugins, they won't work on JIRA OnDemand.

So please browse to Administration -> Plugins -> Manage Plugins (or Administration -> Add-Ons -> Manage Add-Ons) and check if all the plugins you have are listed on this page:

- Atlassian OnDemand and Add-Ons

If all the plugins you have are listed on this page, you won't lose anything when migrating for OnDemand. If you have no plugins installed on JIRA, you can also safely migrate to OnDemand.

Best regards,

Thanks! That is helpful, but we DO have some plugins that aren't listed. It's a long-standing and complex installation so it's very likely that some of those plugins are no longer needed and/or that the missing ones did NOT create elements that won't transfer to On-Demand.

Would it be possible to get access to a trial/sandbox account on On Demand so that I can test importing our data and get a better sense of what a migration plan would have to involve?
