Can the active sprint board sort tasks by story without vertically interleaving other story's tasks?

When viewing the Active Sprint Board, the sub-tasks form different stories are vertically interleaved across the three status columns (Backlog, In Progress and Done). This can create a "where's Waldo" effect when scrolling thru a busy sprint board during a quick progress review.

I'd like to see the sub-tasks arranged by Story, such that only the sub-tasks for that story appear in the vertical space below that story.  Then the next story and its sub-tasks will be listed in the same manner.

Is there a setting or filter which can enable the Active Sprint Board to display the tasks in the desired manner?

In the board settings, have you tried the swimlanes by stories to see if that provides the organization you want?

It appears you are currently using swimlanes by epic.

Thank you very much for your response. Selecting swimlanes by stories does provide the organization I desire. I love it when happiness is only a couple of Mouse clicks away.

Would you happen to know if the Avatar for the story's assignee can be displayed in this mode?
