Can I use Webhooks to send a field value to an external application?

Hi Everybody,

Is it possible to use Webhooks to send a issue's field value to an external application? (Zendesk)

I want to sync the field values between zendesk and JIRA...Any hints?

Hi Jennifer,

I guess webhooks may not be relevant in this case. The easiest is to either use existing Marketplace add on i.e. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/zendesk_for_jira/server/overview - I find it very helpfull and well working. It allows you to create custom set up and bridge between Zendesk and JIRA. 

Other option is to consider some Zappier possibly :) or write your own to make this sync https://zapier.com/

Or finally migrate from Zendesk to JIRA Service desk :) I have run few migrations so far and teams who are using JIRA already at some point expand it's usage to another Atlassian family tools as this gives more power over management and reporting.

Thank you very much. Is there any documentation about write own plugin to make two application sync? I guess my solution will be write my own plugin...

hmm I personally would check all available options before going and writing the plugin. depending which hosting you're using you may hit more challenges with writing plug in for Cloud, whereas for server hosting it is easier. Off course depending the scope of the plug in.
