Agile Issue Detail View

Im loosing my mind, i just cannot ad custom field to Issue Detail.

I just cannot get the filed to select input so i can add it to issue detail view.

Whatever i do its not there.

yes i did, as you can see in my screenshot there is no filed in the select field.

you can see in the first screenshot that it is a part of a screen, when i view the issue i can see the custom field.

the field is from a addon. https://innovalog.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JMCF/JIRA+Misc+Custom+Fields

Ahhh... this is a field from the plugin "JIRA Misc Custom Fields" - you may want to contact the vendor. I'm on the Cloud so do not have access to this since it's a server only plugin.

I don't see any discussion about this on their page, but it may be that it's not available for this screen since it's code based? Only the Vendor may know...

re-indexing seems to solve the problem sometimes, but since it shows on the main screen I doubt it's going to help.

yup, i agree with tom, i just reproduced the problem and it seems you can't add misc custom fields to issue detail view. it's best you contact with the vendor.

is there any link where i can read more on the constrains, ie what fileds i can add and what not.

I can only offer you this link that Boris above proposed: https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-user-s-guide/configuring-a-board/configuring-the-issue-detail-view there are not any specific documents regarding this issue.

as far as I understand, you can add custom fields that are available to you from JIRA as default. but it is related to the plugin that you use also. for example if a plugin has custom fields and made available to use it in the issue detail view, you can still use it.

what kind of custom field is it? there are categories maybet it is under a different category?

1st guess: make sure you have assigned that field to a project screen. If it's not part of the create, edit or view screen for the project issues it will not be on the list for the detail screen.
