Very good to hear that disabling smart query has been shipped for Data Center.

Do you have any idea of when such an option will reach Cloud too?

For other Cloud-interested fellows, this is the suggestion in Atlassian's public Jira tracker: JRACLOUD-59121 Disabling Smart Query in JIRA would be helpful

It was just announced in JRACLOUD-59121 that this has come to Jira Cloud as well:

We’re pleased to let you know that we’ve completed this work, and Smart Query will now be disabled for users by default.

The setting can be controlled in the Jira personal settings page.

This update has begun rolling out. We expect it to be completed by June 21, and will then close this request.
