@Dominic Hill  - to address your first question, you can have team-managed software projects. We do have a few in our company that like the features of the software project template but really need the flexibility offered in going with a team-managed project type.

Hi all, i'm new with Jira. Just want to ask as i'm using the custom filter (which is very helpful), can anybody advice how to do the "custom filter" with our "custom field" with a specific custom field return. 

i am the project owner & i created the custom field but i will get this return error:

Field 'customfield_12939' does not exist or you do not have permission to view it.

Whereby in XML does show the same ID every time I search the custom field:
