How to promote configuration from development/staging to production. Looking for a clear how to guide for promoting our Jira v8.13.0 service desk project. I can't find any documentation that relates to our version. Wondering if anyone has found documentation that would guide us.

Unfortunately we do not natively support this situation and the common solution is to either follow the guide you have linked, or to manually implement changes from one environment to another.

This question was from 2021, but I wonder if the situation remains the same. All my alternatives for service desk software allow to build customizations in a dev environment, and package them up and deploy them for an identical configuration in a production environment. In fact, in some cases I can actually use source control to store configuration and build out automated deployment to package and move them in a pipeline.
The fact that Atlassian doesn't appear to have this makes me hesitant to recommend it for enterprise-level projects where we need to test extensively in a lower environment and be absolutely sure that whatever is deployed to Prod matches exactly what was built. We would look at alternatives.
I would like to find out if Atlassian has matured at all in this area.
