That seems like a field on the screen is mandatory that you have no filled in (or doesn't have a default value).
Only summary is mandatory. Can you please help to resolve the issue.

My last guess then..
Do you have any conditions/validators set up on your create transition?
Check the workflow to see if there is anthing on the transition from Create to your first state.
