When a user replies to the ticket the images in their email signature is appearing very large. How can I fix this please?.
Thanks in advance
Senthu
We had the same issue with signatures from one particular customer. We fixed it by enabling "Use custom text to detect and hide signatures" in "Hide email signatures in issues and portals"
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Go to the gear in the corner > Projects > Email Requests
Then it'll be under there, It's helped with some, but I still get the really terrible looking email signature lines every once in a while. Probably need to add a new custom text rule everytime you have a customer with a new signature that's going large.

I added the salutation like "best regerds" to my list. This works okay for me most of the time.

thanks @Robert Lenk , it works well. just to put it correct , the way to settings is like this:
Gear in corner -> Products -> Email Requests (under Jira Service Management) and then
thanks again !

So this was bought up in 2020 and is still broken. It is not a case of removing the signatures, Jira needs to fix the distortion it creates when it applies the email content to the ticket body text.
We want the signatures included always, BUT I don't want to have to scroll three pages down to see the text because Jira doesn't know how to interpret the email.

Which gets translated into this:
Sometimes the images contain the contact information for the client, so if we scrape the image, we have no details around the sender.
I have worked with numerous ticketing systems, this is the only one I have seen that does this nonsense.

Reduce Image Size: Have users resize images in their email signatures to be significantly smaller (e.g., around 10-20kb).
Optimize Images: Ensure images are optimized for web use (e.g., using tools like TinyPNG) to reduce file size without sacrificing quality.
Consider Image Hosting: Host images on a website and use the image URL in the signature instead of embedding the image directly.
Large signature images in replies are a common problem. It's likely a display issue on the recipient's end, as the image size is usually set on the sender's side. They might be zoomed in, or their email client might handle image scaling differently. You can suggest they check their Zoom settings. Also, ensuring the image in your proper email signature isn't excessively large can help.

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?
It's mad annoying!

Agreed! This is plain silly that a system like Jira cannot handle this better.

It is just the screenshot I lost the original link but this could point you to what you need.

Hello @Senthu Selvanesan,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
When receiving requests and comments from email, currently, there is no option in Service Desk to prevent customers' signatures to be added.
There are feature requests suggesting the implementation of such ability:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.
