Upgrade JSD 2.3.6 in production

Hello,

I want to upgrade my JIRA Service Desk from 2.3.6 to the last version.

I know I also need to upgrade JIRA Software.

The problem is i don't have any staging server to test the upgrade before.

Has anyone ever do this directly in production ?

How can I do ?

Thanks for help,

Jordan

Hi Jordan,

We always use a test version especially when doing a big jump in upgrades.  However, if that is not possible, I suggest you take a back-up, and start it early in the weekend with a clear backout plan.

Make sure you upgrade the jira software version first, as that will dictate the version of jira service desk you need to upgrade to match to the jira software version.

I do recommend you look into a jira test system.

Susan

Thanks for you answer

I also want to know if cloning the current jira application with the database can be useful ?

It will be on the same server of course..
