Uninstall Jira Service Management without breaking Jira Software

Hi,

Are there instructions for uninstalling Jira Service Management that is running on the same server as Jira Software without breaking Jira Software?

When I tested the uninstall feature for the Jira Service Management in my test environment, my test Jira software stopped working properly, we stopped receiving notifications from our test Jira software.

Your advice and assistance is appreciated,

Thank You!

Yes,

we were able to uninstall Service Management as easily as clicking the Uninstall button in the Administration>Applications>Versions & licenses screen.

Thank You!

I have a follow up question - what about the data created in the projects? We need to keep the data for audit purposes but will be deprecating JSM due to lack of support staff.

We are planning to create new projects/issue types / schemes, etc and migrating the data to the new projects before the uninstall. How do we ensure that data loss is minimal aside from these steps?

UPDATE: We simply created new projects in JIRA Software and bulk moved all of the tickets over. Everything was retained as long as we had created a (non-JSM) field to map the data to.

Our Audit trail was preserved. Of course you lose things like SLA times but we werent really using that - our main reason for going off of JSM.

Hello @Alfredo Lagrosa ,

I hope you are doing well!!

If you have both the product installed on your server, ideally you need go to go Admin Cog and click on Application, look for product Jira Service Management and Click on Uninstall.

Note: Please take backup of your application before performing any actions.

Regards,
Mayur
