Search for status category rather than just status values?

The status attributes in Assets all have a category (as it is for Issues also). For Issues there is a possibility to search Issues using these categories rather than the actual status value. For example : 'statusCategory = "In Progress"' and by that catching several different status values. 

Is there a way to do the same for Assets, that is search for the Status category rather than the value?
